Government Resources Accelerating Needed Transformation (GRANT) Program

The GRANT Program is now accepting applications with July 1, 2026 as the first deadline. The GRANT Program will continue to accept monthly applications with the first of each month as the deadline. We are continuing to update Fact Sheets/FAQs/etc., but below is a list of updates as a result of the 2026 Kentucky General Assembly:

  1. The GRANT Program’s sunset date has been extended to December 2028,
  2. The GRANT Program has been allocated an additional $100,000,000 split up across two fiscal years, with the first $50,000,000 becoming available July 2026,
  3. The United States Department of Justice and the United States Department of Defense have been added as eligible federal sponsors,
  4. GRANT Program applications must be submitted within 90 days of the federal grant application date,
  5. Approved GRANT Program applications retain approval for 12 months with the option for a 12 month extension, allowing up to 24 months to secure federal approval, and
  6. Local match requirements have increased to a range of 2% - 10%.
